Beauty Brag: HANAair Hair Dryer

After years of coloring and heat styling my hair to death, I hit the breaking point and thought I would give up on it all. Since the end of the summer, I stopped bleaching my hair. I chose to go back to my natural hair color and had half of my long damaged hair chopped off. After so much processing, my hair had a rough, dry, brittle texture. Since a proper blow drying process would take up to 30 minutes for my shoulder length hair, I have put my blow dryer into the drawer and closed it. Instead of waking up extra early to dry and style my hair, I have been opting for a soaking wet ponytail finished off with hairspray to hold it all in place. By midday, my ponytail was air dried , but looked and felt fried. The only way to change the appearance was to drench my hair in Paul Mitchell's Super Skinny Serum before I threw it in the ponytail. This helped to moisturize the hair but it does weigh the hair down and leaves a slightly oily feeling. The product is great, but I didn't want to use a handful every morning just to make my hair look normal.

Today, I have healthy looking hair that I can brush, flip, and run my fingers through without cringing. I've been learning that the tools we use on our hair are just as important as the products we put on it.

I was recently contacted by Misikko.com to try one of their Professional Salon Dryers. Misikko has a great selection of hair straighteners, curling irons, and blow dryers. The HANAair Professional Hair Dryer is a blow dryer made for the stylist. To provide an honest opinion of the tool, I have been using it everyday. After reading a few reviews of the dryer, I had high expectations of it. After testing it out, the dryer blew me away!

At first impression of the dryer, I thought the design was sleek and easy to use. The weight was not amazing, but in comparison to the amount of time your arm will be holding the dryer, it does not create a problem. The dryer has two heat settings and two speed settings which are easy to switch. A push button for a cool shot of air is the easiest I have tried. My other conventional home dryer has a difficult hard to push cool shot button. The HANAair has a very long power cord which I thought was amazing. Even the balance of the HANAair dryer is optimum. It allows the dryer not to feel too heavy. The best part of the design was the fact that the entire dryer is touchable. I am able to hold the dryer from not only the handle but from the barrel as well. The barrel does not overheat which is helpful when straightening with the dryer. The dryer also comes with a straightening attachment.

The HANAair allowed me to dry my hair completely in under 10 minutes. ( I actually clocked it at 6 minutes.) I prefer the highest speed setting and the first heat setting. I finish off with no heat to close the cuticle and it leaves my hair feeling fresh. Static was not an issue with the ceramic tourmaline. It leaves the hair with negative ions to fight that static electricity. My hair looks smooth and shiny. I'm happy to not go to work in a ponytail! It's refreshing to see the potential of my damaged hair with only the help of a blow dryer. I can't see myself ever again reaching for a drugstore hair dryer that could blister my hair.

If you are searching for a dryer of the highest quality, I definitely recommend this one. To get the best results, use a heat protectant as always. I also like to prep my wet hair with the Original MoroccanOil Oil Treatment or Hana Shine Shield Thermal Protectant. So last Sunday, I shot with Gordon Photography/ Go Photo. We shot in Morristown, NJ with a model named Kaytlen. The photos were meant to have a rock star feel. We ended up doing two different looks. The first look was a very rockstar smokey eye with a gold lid pressed with solar bits. ( Pictures to come later..) The 2nd look was more colorful... I used a bright pink colored blush from MAC PRO and deep truth below the eye as a nice pop of color. The lips were lined with Magenta Lip Liner from MAC and filled in with MAC's Up the Amp lipstick ( love this color!). Enjoy the photos courtesy of Robert Gordon.

I was going for an orange hued look today... I absolutely love MAC's Ravishing Cremesheen Lipstick. I believe this was the color pictured in the ad (below) from the cremesheen collection. I slept over my sister's house last weekend and tried her Heatherette Trio 2 to do a look since I've never used it before.

I'm also wearing a mix of two OCC lip tars. I had never used those either and the super-pigmentation is scary!! Trust me, a little goes a long way. I have MAC Breath of Plum beauty powder blush on my cheeks and foundation is Nars Sheer Glow Foundation. Lashes are from Eeyelash.com.

H&M Haul and FOTD

After leaving work early, my BF took me to the mall and I chose some shirts at H&M which he bought for me. He really spoils me! :) One is an olive green shirt that is fitted at the sleeves and more tented at the bottom. The picture does it no justice! The color reminded me of MAC's Sumptuous Olive eyeshadow which I happened to wear today. The other shirt is a printed blouse that feels bohemian to me. I got a white tank to layer underneath it and I think this will look effortless with some denim jeans.

We were also looking for a Boston Celtics jersey for me but had no luck. I'll probably just end up ordering one online... but anyways, while we were at Modell's Sporting Goods, he also got me some Soffe Women's Cheerleading Shorts. These are so comfy to work out or lounge around in. I think I lived in these in college. These shorts were 3 for $20. They have them in every color!

So on to the make up bit!!

Well, Fridays don't mean the end of the week for me but I can still get a little excited, right? I'm headed to MAC, the CCO, & a little outlet shopping in South Jersey this weekend. I took a trip to the Garden State Plaza Mall in Paramus, NJ yesterday. I have been dying to try Audrina Patridge's favorite jeans that she endorses, Divine Rights of Denim, at Arden B. They also have a great ongoing sale for Buy one and get one 50% off. Celebrities such as Jessica Alba, Paris Hilton, and Lauren Conrad are wearing Divine Rights of Denim jeans.

I picked up two pairs. I loved the fit and length of the jeans! You must go try them out! I feel like they fit so much better than jeans at Express, which are priced about the same. The jeans run from $78 to $38. They have dark denim and lots of distressed styles.

I also picked up two pairs of shoes from FOREVER21. They are very trendy and so cheap. They are the perfect store to get those shoes you can beat up and clothes you can toss out at the end of the season. Both will go great paired with skinny jeans, which i live in.

Foundation: MAC Face & Body

My favorite foundation for all seasons! It feels so light and looks so good! This foundation is very easy to blend and the color is absolutely gorgeous. It never looks orange as some heavier foundations tend to do to us asian, olive skintone girls.

I have a wide variety of foundations and I'm thinking of doing some more reviews or maybe just an overview of them all. A comparison could be a good way to help you choose which one you'd wanna try out. I tend to reach for the same ones all the time. Mostly:

Finally.. the nikon will be back

So I haven't been able to post any high quality/resolution pics on my videos or online lately. I have a small digital camera, a NIKON coolpix, a gift from my sister and brother-in-law. I misplaced my battery charger for the camera a couple months ago so I've been depending on other people's cameras and the macbook webcam. Finally.. when I was at BestBuy with the BF, I picked up a charger for the battery! Haven't opened it yet but the person that helped me promised that it's ok for all Nikons. He better be right, because I'm so excited to do some looks and show you guys better quality pics for details. Maybe I'll even do some swatching and hauling.

I honestly buy make up every week. Sometimes, multiple times. x) It's pretty bad. But a good bad, ya know? LOL. DAMN MAC for coming out with so many collections!! Have you seen the Baroque collecton pics on temptalia? excited!! :)

So, starting back up with videos and the blog will force me to show you my addiction. I know I personally enjoy watching hauls and reading the Blogs to see swatches/pics, so expect some good make up times to come...

My First Blog!!

Just wanted to post something up introducing my new blog. Hopefully I can let you guys know I'm still alive in between making videos. I'll post about make up, DUH, and style and what not. Basically everything I like. I wanna share it all with you :)

So for all those interested, Sephora's Friends and Family sale is going on right now and ends November 2, 2009 I believe. FF2009 is the code to use at checkout. I already received my first order!
